Go Global, Work Abroad

The 3rd Ehime University Reform Symposium “Go Global, Work Abroad” was held in Ehime University, and 16 students from our 2nd grade SG course members joined to the symposium. In this symposium, Mr. Tomio Noguchi, who is the chairman of Uwajimaya Co. known as a most developed Japanese grocery store in the USA, taught about a story how his family moved from Ehime, began business, overcome many troubles and succeeded. Also we watched a video letter from Mr. Kihei Otani, who is the president of South California Ehime Kenjinkai (families from Ehime) who also supported our students’ school trip to Los Angeles held on this May. In the message, he told the importance of the experience of the abroad which you felt with your own eyes and ears, and encouraged the 100 students who visited Los Angeles this May.
In the symposium, many debates and advices were made from global businessman and global officers from Ehime and other city governments. The advice from Mr. Hayashi, a CEO of Miura Co. who supported our school’s field trip in Korea, Taiwan, Indonesia, and China, was especially stimulating.
The symposium ended up as a successful meeting, with having high school students from Uwajima Minami and Matsuyama Higashi questioning which pulled out many advises and ideas from a multilateral perspective.
We appreciate Prof. Tsuchiya and other staff members of Ehime University Institute for International Relations, who gave our students a chance to attend this symposium.
