On January 24th, Shikoku Pilgrimage English Speech Contest was held at Matsuyama. This speech contest, just began from this year, is planned for two purposes. One is to appeal “Shikoku Pilgrimage” to the world since it has been elected as a Japan Heritage on 2015. Second is to develop local young age, both knowledge of Shikoku Pilgrimage and English skill, as a global leader who can preserve the culture of Shikoku Pilgrimage.
From our school, Ms Risa Inaba has joined and won an award.

Lets go voting

On January 21st, we had a workshop “let’s go voting!” as one of the class of research program. This workshop was able to happen by the help of Mr. Oshihara, a professor of Ehime University faculty of Education as well as teacher of our 1st graders’ research program, and also Ehime Prefectural Electoral Management Committee.
In the workshop, students first listened to lectures by 2 graduates titled “How to activate with politics ~Should we go to election?~” and “How does it happen when election starts?”. Then, students did straw poll of Ehime.
Thanks to the Electoral Management Committee, students were able to experience voting with real voting desk and ballot box, they must have felt the importance of this one vote. Students seemed also a bit nervous, may be because there was a camera of TV news show for coverage.
